Tonky Art Show – Gimme Coffee Brooklyn
Tuesday, August 4th, 2009 | The American Diorama, Tonky Graphic Design, Tonky Limited Editions | No Comments

Woo Woo!
I’ve hung some new work at Gimme Coffee in Brooklyn and hoping you’ll find some time to see it in person.
The piece above is titled The American Diorama and features a new development in my work. I’ve been using plotter cut vinyl as a resist to build up multiple layers of acrylic paint. The color effect is lucid and shimmery. You need to see it in person!
Gimme Coffee makes the best cappuccino in the world. They make it on the wet side and the foam is partially integrated into the liquid rather than just sitting stupidly on top. When you visit, order it to stay in a pre-heated ceramic cup and get your art on.

Tonky Album Cover | The Defibulators: Corn Money
Thursday, February 26th, 2009 | Tonky Graphic Design | No Comments
Step right up and feast your eyes on 2009’s best album cover.
After a hearty round of revisions I completed this buttery album cover/ poster for the hot new rockabilly band The Defibulators. The design will be featured on the upcoming itunes single of the album’s title track, “Corn Money”, and also as a tour poster.
The album is called Corn Money and it rocks your face off. Produced by combining curious interlude segments of CB radio conversations and analog crackle with the flawless takes you’d expect of a band that is serious about their art form.
The songs weave to form a contemporary morality tale that evokes equal parts hodown, heartbreak, and hootenanny. They spent over a year perfecting the project and it shows. Buy the album and support these weirdos you vagabond.
Keep an ear out for them and an eye out for their upcoming shows in NYC and abroad. Word is they’ll be taking South by Southwest by storm

Double Cross Vodka – Window Display NYC
Thursday, January 15th, 2009 | Tonky Graphic Design | No Comments
Take a look at this butter window display I designed for the good folks at Double Cross Vodka (the brand’s name/logo are derived from the Slovakian Flag the vodka’s country of origin). It is installed at Gotham Wines, upper west side of Manhattan.
Their fabulous brand architecture (logos, package design, etc) designed by CAPSULE in Minneapolis, MN made my job a lot easier.
